To kick off our cooking week, we read If you give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff and made chocolate chip cookies! The children told us all about how they help make cookies at home and were very excited to make some at school! The boys and girls helped pour in the ingredients and stir it all together. The cookies turned out great!
The soft serve ice cream man came to Tots today! The campers were treated to a special soft serve ice cream treat at the end of our day. We hope to see him again next week!
We hit the road again today with our bikes, trikes and scooters. Bike riding is an aerobic exercise and endurance activity that helps kids develop strength, balance, and overall fitness. It strengthens the heart, lungs, and lower-body muscles and bones. Other benefits of bicycle riding include burning calories, and developing and strengthening knee muscles. So keep on riding kids!
We hit the kitchen one last time this week and created another simple snack…salsa. A nice, cool, healthy snack for a hot summer day, and don’t forget the blue corn chips! Did you know that blue corn chips have less starch and more protein than the white corn tortilla chips?
The boys and girls had some much fun during music week! They we able to explore and make all new kinds of instruments such as, tissue box guitars, sand paper sticks, water bottle maracas, and tambourines. The children had a blast jamming with Ms. Joanie and her guitar all week!
We hit the kitchen again today and tried our hand at a healthy snack. We made our own Carrot Muffins and they were delicious!
Our mini music makers love to try out new instruments! Ms. Joanie came in today and everyone had a chance to strum the guitar. The boys and girls also had the opportunity to help Ms. Joanie play the Up Down Whistle. It was a lot of fun!
