  • Scissor Skills & Independence

    Today we practiced holding scissors the correct way. Scissor skills are a definite aspect of independence in the classroom and at home. Understanding the correct way helps keep your preschooler safe and strengthens fine motor muscles. Click here for a great video on teaching preschoolers to use scissors.

  • How do we use scissors?

    Using scissors safely is an extremely important skill to learn in preschool. Working with scissors strengthens fine motor muscles and promotes independence in the classroom. Today we reviewed how to hold scissor safely while we are not using them.

    We learned how to hold scissors while we are cutting with them. The way to hold scissors while using them is with the thumb in the top hole always facing up.

  • I know Scissor Safety!

    Today in preschool we learned how to use scissors safely. Scissor skills are very important in preschool. Understanding the correct way to use scissors is important to stay safe while strengthening fine motor muscles and hand-eye coordination. The preschoolers were so proud of their work today!
