Who will help me, ask the little red hen. Well, unlike the goat, pig, and dog, all the children leant a hand to make our home made bread today! That meant that we all are able to enjoy the fruits of our labor….delicious! We also made our own homemade butter!
Vegetable soup was the recipe of the day today! We read Growing Vegetable Soup, then chopped and sliced our way to a delicious pot of Veggie Soup.
“On top of spaghetti, all covered with cheese. I lost my poor meatball, when somebody sneezed. It rolled off the table, and onto the floor. And then my poor meatball rolled out of the door!”
We tried to keep our “meatballs” on top of the spaghetti today during recess…we did a great job, but they eventually went flying!
We read the book Curious George makes Pancakes outside today. George was a great pancake maker and an excellent flipper! We used put our hand/eye coordination to work today to work on our own flipping skills!
We followed the characters, Iguana, Pot-bellied pig, turtle, and rooster through the book Cook-a-doodle-doo today as they baked Great Granny’s (The Little Red Hen) famous strawberry shortcake. Iguana wanted to measure the flour with a ruler instead of a measuring cup while pot-bellied pig waited to be the “taster” at the end. We then tried out the Granny’s recipe and boy was it delicious!
