Friday we read Up, Down and Around by Katherine Ayres . We discovered all kinds of different seeds just in time for Summer! At small groups the boys and girls used their sorting skills and separated their own bag of seeds based on shape and size. Then they glued each seed onto their seed graph and was able to see how many of each seed they had. What a fun way to learn about seeds and sorting!
With spring in full swing, we took time today to talk about rainbows! During group time we read Planting a Rainbow by Lois Ehlert and reviewed all the colors in the rainbow. Then the children went on a scavenger hunt looking for different objects that were red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple! After recognizing all the colors in the rainbow, we fired up our fine motor skills and used Q-Tips to dot paint all the colors. The boys and girls did a great job painting a rainbow!
Today we read Jump Frog Jump by Robert Kalan. As a group we worked on patterning with lily pads and leap frogs. We strenghtened our math skills during small groups and made our own frog patterns. Be sure to check backpacks for our fun frog craft!
Thank you everyone for over 250 packages of diapers, wipes, and creams. We were able to help so many deserving families in our community. We love to see the children put their lessons of compassion into practice. Way to go everyone!
During small groups today, our focus was the math concept of sorting. We sorted ice by their shape…it was COLD!
We had our first Show and Share today in the Early 3’s! The children had the opportunity to bring in one item that started with the letter S…
S is for Snoopy!
S is for Snow White
S is for Snake!
S is for Sun!
S is for Snowball
Today we read Dream Snow by Eric Carle again. The children were very excited that they remembered the name of the Author.
We discussed The Dream Snow Christmas Tree.
And then we made our own Christmas Tree.
The Farmers animals are named one, two, three, four, and five. We found our own animals and named them!
