Today the preschoolers practiced number recognition.
Next, we showed off our counting skills.
Finally, we strengthened our fine motor muscles as we balanced just the right amount of penguins on the glacier.
Number recognitions is a daily skill in the preschool room. We work with numbers in as many ways possible. We write on the smartboard, chalkboards, dry erase boards, paper, and windows. We write using crayons, pencils, markers, and our finger. We trace letters and lines to prepare for writing on our own. We build letters with blocks and pipe cleaners. Exposing preschoolers to multiple ways of teaching reaches all types of learners. Today we strengthened our kinesthetic awareness and built 11 and 12 with blocks. Working with your preschooler and their numbers in any way possible is excellent practice!
The preschoolers practiced number recognition and counting skills today while choosing pom poms to decorate their gingerbread man!
Then we practiced sorting while we put our pom poms back into the bowls they belong in.
Practice counting with your preschooler at home, they LOVE this silly video!
The early 3’s are really working hard to recognize their numbers…today they named the number and then counted out many beads matched the number in the cup. They got in a fine motor work out when they picked up the small beads with their pincher fingers. This is an easy and fun game to make with your child and do at home!
We are working on number recognition with the numbers 1-5 in the Early 3’s this week! Our Early 3’s had a blast rolling the dice and calling out the number that it landed on!
