Click on the picture to watch The Alphabet Song. This is great practice and lots of fun. It is important to expose children to letters and letter sounds every day in as many ways possible. Sing and dance along with your preschooler!
Today during small groups we practiced and reviewed our letters of the month F, E, and D. We played Alphabet Cover- Up, watched and sang along to videos on the Smartboard, and built our letters with blocks on our magnet boards. Practicing skills in multiple ways helps to reach all types of learning styles.

A told b and b told c, “I’ll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!” Our focus this week in preK was to review our uppercase and lowercase letters and sounds to help prepare us for reading groups next week!
We reviewed our letters and letter sounds today…beach style of course!
A new month means a new theme: Go Green! As we learn about recycling, the children explore the new activities in each center. We spent time today learning about the new activities and how they are used.
As the end of the school year approaches, we have been practicing and reviewing our letter sounds. The children applied those skills to decoding beginning letter sounds. This month, we have focused on A, G and S. In small groups, the boys and girls picked a picture and had to determine which letter sound it began with, A, G or S. They then glued it onto the appropriate column.
The very last vowel that we have been working on this month is the letter A. Today, the children worked with the letter A in several ways. They had the opportunity to write the letter, point out words that began with the /a/ sound, compare that capital and lowercase, along with creating their very own wooden letter A’s (that are at school drying!). It was an A+ day!
