We continue to review letter sounds as we prepare for our sight word study and our reading groups!
We discovered the Blue Ringed Octopus today during our Country Study. We created our own as we spied letters as a letter sound was called out. Both upper case and lower case were included. This is our final week of letter Aa, Bb, and Cc Review. Next week we will review letters Dd, Ee, Ff and their sounds. Keep practicing at home! They are doing a GREAT JOB!
We had a fantastic start to our third week of school! In the toddler room we are learning the color red and the letter “R.” We are learning the ABC song and practicing sitting at group time. The children had fun working on their art show pieces: painting muffin tins and printing them on paper. A new addition to our playground is a huge sandbox!!! The children LOVE playing in it!! Check out all of our fun photos from our day!! 🙂

This month in preschool we are focusing on the letters Aa, Bb, Cc. Today during small groups we played Alphabet Coverup to practice our letters. Each preschooler has a Alphabet Coverup game board in their homework folder. This is a great tool for all kinds of learning fun. This morning, I wrote A, a, B, b, C, c on the board. This is an easy way to practice letter recognition and letter sounds. Have fun with your preschooler practicing letters!
We continued our letter sound practice today with a twist! When given a sound, the children found both the upper and lowercase letter that makes the sound and prints it into the play dough! Making learning fun is the quickest way to get our little ones engaged and ready to learn!
Pre-K is off to a great start! We explored our letter sounds today and learned how to take care of our classroom. We also got our fine motor muscles moving as we reviewed our basic scissor skills. Keep an eye out for your child’s homework and V.I.P. folders in backpacks today!
We worked fine motor and reviewed our last 4 letters from April with this fun game. The children picked a letter from a bowl and then had to try to find its match on a folded card. This game is a great cognitive game as the children have to try to remember where the letter matches are!
Last week, the Toddlers learned about the letter L. They used their fine motor skills to pinch and grip the small licorice bites as they placed them on the letter L. They did a great job working in teams of two!
