Happy Halloween! We had so much fun at our parties! We have done several special crafts (handprint bat, spider, and peek-a-BOO ghost cup). We played lego monster, beanbag monster, in and out of the tunnel, and practiced trick or treating. Our special snack was a big donut with teeth! We even tried to get all of our friends together for a group photo. After full days of singing, dancing, stories, snacks, and crafts these toddlers might need a nap before the big night ahead!
The Lego eating monster only likes legos that are the same color. The kids took turns
feeding the monster with matching legos.
This monster likes beanbags. Kids named the color of beanbag before they threw it in!
We embraced our October theme whole heartedly this month! What’s better than giving academic time a Halloween twist?? Here’s a taste of what we did this month!
Spider Counting!
Building letters with pumpkin seeds
Letter building with candy corn
Halloween cutting center
Feeding the Alphabet Zombie (he loves his letters!)
Acting out the Five Little Pumpkins
Spider swatting and number recognition!
Fall Number Mats
Wicked letter find and sort!
Silly Monster Craft!
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate… We have had so much fun with this little song. We did an art project with pumpkin stickers, read several book versions, put 5 pumpkins on the magnet board, and acted the song out. We also made yummy pumpkin muffins, decorated mini pumpkins with washi tape, and played hot pumpkin (a version of hot potato). Our sensory bin for the month has been pumpkin seeds with scoops and tins to “make pumpkin pie”. We also plan to use all of our senses to explore the outside and inside of a pumpkin! Happy orange October!
Our halloween day theme in K Prep was Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson. We read and reenacted the story in sequential order. We have some budding actors in our room!
