The preschoolers had fun jumping, tip-toeing, hopping, skipping, and tracing letters today! We practiced our letters while using our bodies. This is a great game for home, you just need some tape!
Another fun day in the toddler room! The children are continuing to explore the room and the centers within our room. The new train table is definitely a new favorite. The children have been building up their gross motor skills as they play outside on our playground. They had a blast with the bubbles and drawing on the chalk board this morning. Enjoy the little sneak peek of our day!

We’ve been looking into all things that fly… so why not test out our flying skills! We decorated paper airplanes with paint and them took outside for a spin! Some of the early 3’s even figured out that by getting on top of the slide, they could throw their plane even farther!
Who needs a teacher to create a science experiment when you can find one for yourself on the playground. The Early 3’s discovered that dirt gets wet when you dig deep into the ground. They were super excited to find what creatures dwell in that damp soil.
We have been talking about igloos, icerbergs, cold weather, and the kinds of clothes you wear in the cold here in the early 3’s. Today we put on our winter gear to build an igloo out of blocks! The children used their fine motor muscles to put on their gear and their gross motor to build the igloos.
With winter here in full swing it is hard to get rid of our wiggles and giggles. Playing outside is extremely important for little ones to expel energy and exercise gross motor muscles. When it is too cold to go outside we try to use our bodies in the classroom as much as possible. Here are a few of our preschoolers favorite Music and Movement songs if you are looking for a way to shake those wiggles out!
Today our preschoolers explored and discovered triangles in all kinds of ways! We first learned about the shape during groups. Click on the first picture to watch The Shapes Song with your preschool.
Next we counted the sides of a triangle. We used triangle shaped sponges as stamps.
During Yoga Relaxation today we used our bodies to practice Triangle Pose. Integrating new skills and knowledge with any physical activity is a really fun way to help preschoolers memory.
