You can’t have a fish theme without going fishing! The Early 3’s used fishing poles with suction cups to pick up card board fish! Who got the catch of the day?
This week during small groups the children practiced pouring goldfish from a cup to a bowl. We talked about math, science, and volume. The boys and girls also took turns painting fish as the easel blue (color of the month).
The preschoolers learned all about the three bears that live in Alaska. We explored our senses while finger painting then strengthened our fine motor muscles as we put our bears together.
We worked fine motor and reviewed our last 4 letters from April with this fun game. The children picked a letter from a bowl and then had to try to find its match on a folded card. This game is a great cognitive game as the children have to try to remember where the letter matches are!
We got out our quilting materials today in honor of the letter Q! We chose pieces of scrap paper to glue over our first initials to make a beautiful handmade quilt. It was fun to find pieces of paper that we thought would look great together.
We are working toward mastering our names in early 3’s. We have spent the year learning to recognize them. Lately, we are moving past this skill and learning to write and spell them! Learning to recognize, spell, and write your name are important skills associated with early reading!
Last week, the Toddlers learned about the letter L. They used their fine motor skills to pinch and grip the small licorice bites as they placed them on the letter L. They did a great job working in teams of two!
Today the preschoolers celebrated Earth Day! We brainstormed ways to protect our Earth and things we can do to help. Next, we strengthened our fine motor muscles by tearing recycled magazine sheets and creating a collage of the Earth. Ask your little one how they are going green!
Creative Tots has specialized in the private education of both toddlers and preschool age children for over 15 years. We began in the heart of Madeira and now also have a new Mason location. We are specifically designed to focus on early childhood development for children ages 18 months to 5 years.
