For our first pet craft of the month we made calico cats out of shapes! The children used their fine motor skills to add circle eyes, triangle ears, rectangle whiskers, and a heart nose. During this activity we went over shape and color recognition!

Here is an EASY and FUN way to work on those fine motor skills with your preschooler at home!
Today we made winter snow globes in the Toddler room. The bottle was filled half way with water. Then we added baby oil. The children loved watching all of the little bubbles form.
Next, we added one drop of blue food coloring.
Then the boys and girls used their fine motor skills to pinch and drop snowflakes into the bottles.
To finish the project the children shook up the bottles and watched the winter wonderland.
To review the concepts of top, middle, and bottom, The Toddlers made a tasty treat. A graham cracker bottom, icing in the middle, and freshly cut strawberries on top. The boys and girls used their fine motor skills to spread the icing all over the cracker.
The Early 3’s had a blast using their fine motor skills to fill a pasta strainer with pipe cleaners! This is a simple activity you can do at home to keep your child busy all while helping them strengthen and fine tune those muscles! Try it with dried spaghetti noodles!
