We learned all about crabs today! Our focus was on the Red Crab that travel to lay their eggs in the ocean. We watched a video clip showing the thousands of crabs making the trip to the ocean and doing their “egg laying shimmy.” We practiced our very best sideways crab walk and a little egg laying shimmy. Ask your pre-ker to show you! We then read a fun book by Ruth Galloway called Clumsy Crab. Ms. Lori helped us make our very own Clumsy Crabs to add to our classroom decor.
We watched today as an Inuit boy learned how to build his first igloo. We also read the book, Inside an Igloo and learned why igloos have a small tunnel as an entrance. Ask your them why!
Ms. Penny was visiting the Sonoran Desert Museum on Friday and sent videos to the students of different animals they saw while they were there. The children were able to watch them on our new smartboard, then make their own video and send it back! It’s amazing how technology can bring the world right into our very own classroom!
