  • New Month, New Centers!

Throughout the month of November, the Toddlers will be exploring the theme of nature. To go along with this theme, the centers around the room have been modified. There are lincoln logs and woodland animals in the block center, safari jeeps and buggies in the transportation center, and new puzzles and games in the manipulatives center. Today the boys and girls jumped right in and explored the new room!

  • Fun Friday- Music & Movement!

The boys and girls look forward to music and movement every day. They love to “shake out their sillies” and “drive in their cars”. Once a week we have the pleasure of having Ms. Joanie and her special guest, Elmo play music with us! Music helps children develop memory skills and language and literacy skills. Music and Movement helps develop listening skills, auditory discrimination, and concentration. Young children use this time to express feelings and emotions while increasing self esteem. Check out the children using their fine motor skills to strum the guitar as they sing along to some of their favorite songs!

  • Welcome to the Toddler Room!

We had a great first week of school in the Toddler Room! We were so excited to explore all of the fun new toys and centers throughout the room. The boys and girls spent part of  their day practicing sitting for group time and listening to a story! They loved the book 10 Little Rubber Ducks by Eric Carle. The children enjoyed pushing the “quack” button at the end of the story! The Toddlers had a great start to the week and are already transitioning smoothly into their new environment!

  • Candy Apples

For our last day of cooking camp we made a delicious treat, candy apples! Our little chefs dipped their apple in caramel and then sprinkles to make a candy apple! It was too good to not eat, so we had them for snack! Then we made a second to take home. What a fun way to dress up apples!

Then we scooped hummus into a cup, added some carrots, dropped it in a pot and created a carrot patch! The boys and girls all seem to love carrots and were excited to take their treats home. Enjoy!
