We have changed out our centers in the preschool and kprep room for the month of October! Here are a few of the centers below.
The Light Table Center
Students can practice identifying their letters and forming words on the light table.
The Art Center
Ms. Taylor made pumpkin scented play dough for the art center! Students can make shapes and prints in the play dough.
The Block Center
There are many forest themed animals and different natural blocks to use at this center. It really brings out the students’ imaginations and creativity.
The Library Center
Students can read books or listen to them on tape in our comfy library center.
The Dramatic Play Center
This center resembles a home environment and lets students use their imaginations to take care of baby dolls.
The Tower Center
There is currently a superhero theme in the tower! There are many books, superhero cars, action figures and more!
The Manipulative Center
This center allows students to put parts together and create different objects. This center often promotes teamwork.
The Writing Center
This center has different, fun writing utensils and a new word wall! The students can practice writing new words or writing letters to friends. The classroom mailbox is located at this center as well!
We all have cubbies with our names!
We hang our backpacks by the top “Magic Loop.”
Our Sensory Tub looks just like a pond! There are a lot of frogs hiding the blue water and green grass.
Our Fine Motor Center helps to make our tiny finger muscles STRONG.
The Dramatic Play Center is a Vet Clinic! We like to work with our friends and care for the animals.
The preschoolers are doing a very impressive job at settling into the expectations of the preschool room environment. We have been discussing classroom rules and routines while learning why it is important to follow these rules. The preschoolers were able to explore the centers today and show off which rules they remembered to follow!
Always use a clip.
Always play safely.
Choose an activity and have fun!
Treat books and toys with respect.
Always tidy up. “The mess you make is the mess you clean up!”
With each new month and theme means new library books! The Early 3’s explored each new book from cover to cover. It is important to expose young children to a variety of books including fiction, non-fiction, nursery rhymes, etc. When young children are exposed to a variety of literature they are not only able to build on their knowledge and vocabulary, but are also able to find genres that interest them. This is a great way to promote early reading! This month we have books about gardening and vegetables, stories about garden creatures, and fun books with different pop-outs and textures!
Creative Tots has specialized in the private education of both toddlers and preschool age children for over 15 years. We began in the heart of Madeira and now also have a new Mason location. We are specifically designed to focus on early childhood development for children ages 18 months to 5 years.
