We put the finishing touches on our Blue Ringed Octopus’ in pre-k today.  Click on the Blue Ringed Octopus below to see the video we watched about this beautiful creature in group time.

It’s all about down under this month! We have been exploring the Great Barrier Reef and learning about the animals in the ocean. Today we made Sea Anemone prints, ask your preschooler about animals from down under!

We had a fantastic start to our third week of school! In the toddler room we are learning the color red and the letter “R.” We are learning the ABC song and practicing sitting at group time. The children had fun working on their art show pieces: painting muffin tins and printing them on paper. A new addition to our playground is a huge sandbox!!! The children LOVE playing in it!! Our class is traveling to the Great Barrier Reef this month as we visit Australia during our country studies.  After learning about the difference between an octopus and a squid, we dove straight into our small math groups today and worked on number recognition and one to one correspondence.

We had such a blast today! Check out our photos from painting with spaghetti, playing with bubbles/water/whisks/red food coloring, and eating “ants on a log.” Definitely a fun day at summer camp!

We continue our “Play, Create, and Explore”week with milk/food coloring art, edible finger paint, and colored hair gel in ziplock bags. Lots of messy activities and hands-on experiences –which we love!! Take a peek at our day:

It’s hard to believe that it is our 5th week of summer camp!!! This week our theme is “Bubble, Bubble, Pop!!” Bubbles EVERYWHERE!! Check out some of the activities and faces of this week’s summer camp! 🙂 We’ve painted by blowing paint bubbles onto paper. We used bubble wrap to paint whales. This week has been lots of fun so far!!! 🙂

This week the Toddlers are exploring the Wild West. We have lots of fun things planned as the week goes on! On Monday, we sang, “Shoo Fly Don’t Bother Me” at group time and did a fun (and messy) art project to go along with it. In the sensory tub, the boys and girls can search for gold! The children are making new friends and loving all of the new centers we have put out for this week.
