The Early 3’s have been up to a lot of holiday cheer this week! We had a great time doing holiday activities in small groups and even more fun at our holiday party!
Counting parts of a snowman…
Crafting…
Writing in Goo…
And finally…having a ball at the holiday party!
We dressed up some cold snowmen…
Shoveling snow…
Making Snowmen Treats
We even got to read stories with some of our favorite people…
For the month of December the Early 3’s are working hard to recognize the letters B and E. We have been singing the letter B and E songs, talking about whose name contains these letters, and doing lots of fun activities to immerse ourselves in the letters. One of our favorite activities was stamping the letters on paper using blocks and paint!
The toddlers used their fine motor muscles to hold paintbrushes today. They used green watercolors to paint polar bears! Our little artists had lots of fun turning the white paper green!
Happy Thanksgiving!! Enjoy the holiday with your family and eat lots of turkey!
The Early 3’s took their work outside this week! We brought paper and crayons outside to see what happened when we colored with a crayon on the surface of a tree. The children were excited to discover the cool patterns they could make by rubbing their crayon across the paper sideways and holding it the regular way against the tree.
The Early 3’s had fun figuring out ways to put glitter on their fireflies. They poured glitter, pinched glitter, even dipped their fireflies in a pile of glitter. No matter which way they chose to “glitter” their fireflies, they got them nice and bright!
Today the preschoolers had a very exciting day with a special visitor and celebration. We learned about the act of storytelling and listened to Dancing Moon and her helper, Bright Rainbow, share a story with a very valuable lesson.
The preschoolers enjoyed peeking into the lives of Native American children. We learned all about the importance of corn. The children husked and enjoyed corn on the cob just like Native Americans daily meals. Ask your preschooler the Native American word for corn!
Another chore for Native American children was popping kernels off the ear of corn to grind it into cornmeal for eating and storing.
The preschoolers explored beautiful Native American jewelry and artifacts. Then they got the chance to create their very own necklace with feathers and beads.
Arrowheads, spears, and bow and arrows were big hits this morning. The children loved learning about Native American weapons and materials they used to hunt and feed their families.
We ended our special day with our Painted Pony project. We looked at pictures of Native American celebrations with horses painted with beautiful designs and images. Ask your little one how they painted their pony!
