We read the story 10 Apples Up On Top by Dr. Seuss and listened to the song version by Jason Mraz.  The toddlers had so much fun balancing apples, counting apples, picking apples, sorting apples, bobbing for apples, creating apple crafts, and peeling apples.

We have had so much fun with fall and farm activities in the toddler room this month.  Lots of sensory experiences have been planned to help explore and learn. An apple peeler provided us with fine motor practice, yummy snack, and cute photo opportunity. Watercolor, glue, and other art mediums were provided to create fall foxes, scarecrows, and leaves.  Old McDonald has been a favorite classic to sing and play with instruments.  We discussed things that we were thankful for and talked about foods that families eat on Thanksgiving Day.   We are so thankful for our toddlers and their families!

Our toddler class continued to learn about the color red as we took turns peeling apples.  Our fine motor skills were put to the test as well as revisiting our study of the five senses. We enjoyed our peeled apple slices for snack. A yummy lesson indeed! We will be “picking” apples next week – a picture of this will be included in the color book sent home at the end of the year.

The Preschoolers and Preschool Preppers have been apart of many fun, hands-on explorations this month! We opened up a pumpkin, made our own homemade applesauce and had some animals visit the classroom!

We were all about apples this week in preschool prep! We did an apple experiment, apple art and even made our own applesauce!

We learned all about apples in preschool!  We discovered the parts of an apple, how each different color tasted and conducted our own sink or float science experiment.  We even explored the seasons of the apple tree.  This is a great time to pick apples!
