The boys and girls were singing twinkle twinkle little star all day today! We counted the points on a star, found different color stars on the floor and of course sang some star songs!
Today the boys and girls had a chance to get a little messy! Our discovery tubs were filled with shaving cream,red paint, peppermint and candy canes. The children were able to swirl and mix the red paint to make their own candy cane mix! It sure did make the room smell good!
After making some very special christmas gifts, the boys and girls had a chance to build a snowman! We used paper cups to build the body, buttons, a hat and orange carrot nose! We might of also sang the song from Frozen while doing art. 🙂
The month of December we will be creating, building, and playing with things that have a top, middle and bottom! During group time we decorated a tree and for small groups we built a snowman. Keep checking the blog to see what we will be creating next!
Today was all about turkeys! The children created thanksgiving turkeys during art using their handprints and some pre-cut shapes. In our discovery tubs the boys and girls were able to create turkeys using play-doh,feathers and a little imagination. Happy Thanksgiving!
This past week we talked about cows and how they make milk for us to drink and use to make other foods.
Ms. Susan planned a special small group where the children got to help make whipped cream and butter.
We had to shake, shake, SHAKE the containers of cream to turn it into butter:
Then the children got to help make whipped cream!
In another small group, we practice “milking a cow” by squeezing the water out of a glove and into a pail.
We had a very special snack: Our very own homemade butter on bagels and our whipped cream on crackers!
Since it was so cold last week, we had a great opportunity to go into the preschool room and use the smart board! The boys and girls had so much fun doing music and movement in the “big kid room”. All the children did a great job listening and following directions! We can’t wait to use the smart board again!
This month in the Toddler room we are all about the Farm! The children have had so much fun dressing up like cowboys, playing in the farmers market and feeding the farm animals in the sensory tub. More farm activities to come!
You caught us red handed! Our little artists have been busy working on Art Show all week. No peeking! So, no art is going home this week but get excited for some awesome works of art!
