  • Lots of hands-on experiences in the toddler room today! We made the color of the month {orange} by mixing red and yellow paint in ziplock bags. We glued pieces of paper onto tree trunks. We practiced our fine motor skills by transferring pom poms with tongs in and out of cups. Lots of fun learning experiences in this classroom!! 🙂

  • This week we have been working on our scooping skills by scooping oatmeal into bowls and cups. We are working on our eye-hand coordination skills and fine motor skills.

  • In our toddler class today, we had fun building our fine motor skills by transferring rocks from a cup to a bowl with a pair of tongs. Definitely an excellent challenge that will help them strengthen these skills.

  • Today we went back to our normal routine after a few days of picture day! 🙂 We had fun playing with gak and making art with animal stamps. Our theme for this month is Farm/Fall….and the children love when we sing Old McDonald Had a Farm during group time. (I include magnetic photos of each animal in our song.)

  • On Monday, in the Toddler Room, the children had a blast making cows!! Check out a few of the photos of them painting, pressing, and opening to reveal their unique cows! They also had fun playing with numbers and letters in play dough at one of our discovery centers.

  • Today we made apple print paintings!! The children had fun swishing the apple in paint then pressing it onto the paper.

  • Today we made colorful owls!! We had a lot of fun choosing the colors for the wings and beaks, and we got to choose the type of eyes we wanted our owl to have. We also enjoyed the discovery station with rice and a variety of orange items (our color of the month) to explore. In group time we talked about animals that are on a farm and the noises that each animal makes.

  • We definitely had a lot of fun exploring all of our new centers this morning. There is now a “Farmer’s Market” (which replaced the kitchen) and a light table!! Both new centers were a hit! We also have a wide variety of farm themed manipulatives and toys to go along with this month’s theme.

  • On Thursday in the Toddler Room, we made “tie-dye” paintings by putting paint on a plate and spinning it around on a paper. The product is awesome!!! Here are a few shots from our day…
