With the new month here and it still being so cold we decided to change things up a little in the Toddler room! We have all new toys out and moved some centers around to keep our toddlers excited and busy. The boys and girls really seem to be liking the new room!
On this gloomy day we needed something to cheer us up! During art the boys and girls made rain clouds with rainbow rain drops. These pieces of art definitely brighten up our day!
Our morning routine has changed just a little bit! Each morning, after washing hands, the boys and girls will come over to the magnet board to find their name. This activity begins with each child finding their face and it also gives us a chance to talk about the letters in their names one on one. The children have really enjoyed looking at everyones pictures. It is a fun addition to the morning!
We took advantage of the little bit of the snow on the ground and brought it inside to play with! The boys and girls had the chance to scoop and pour snow and ice into cups. It was a very fun and cold activity!
This week we were moving our bodies during group time! Ms. Laurel read a story about circles, then the boys and girls were asked to stand on the circle on the floor. The children held hands and sang Ring A Round The Rosie while walking in a circle. It was so much fun!
The toddlers were giving their little fingers a workout with this activity! The boys and girls were given a piece of white chalk to draw lines up and down, circles or scribbles on a black piece of paper. This activity really had their fine motor skills and creativity working!
Our toddlers are so happy to be back! One of the favorite centers for the children to play in the sensory tub. So much fun exploring and creating!
