We had such a fun day celebrating the ones we love… our families! From our mini concert to our yummy snack, and even our fun activities, I’d say Valentine’s Day in Preschool was a success!
We practiced our cutting skills today in preschool and made a fun creation out of it!
We celebrated our January Literacy Party this week with the book If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff.
We read the story and then wrote a fun journal response!
We made our own cute mice to take home!
To practice some counting skills, we counted cookies up to 8.
And then we enjoyed our very own cookie and milk snack!
We have been so busy this month with our alphabet study! This month we have been working on the letters M, N, and O. In addition to letter recognition, we are working very hard on learning letter formation and the sound the letter makes.
We practice building letters using various materials like M&Ms.

You’re a Mean One Mr. Grinch!! Our preschoolers enjoyed a fun day filled with activities all about the story How the Grinch Stole Christmas!
We read the story and did a journal response on how we would make the Grinch smile! We also showed off our best grinchy faces!
“To make the Grinch smile I would throw him a party!”
“To make the Grinch smile, I would go in the hot tub and eat lollipops with him!”
We made Grinch Dust to sprinkle in our yards to keep the Grinch away on Christmas eve.
We played Pin the Heart on the Grinch.
And we ended the day with Popcorn and the movie! So much fun!
What an amazing group of families we have at Creative Tots. We are overjoyed to share these special moments with you that we hope are ones you will remember with your children for years to come. Thank you for sharing your precious little ones with us each and every day. Happy Holidays!
Preschoolers got to have a special gingerbread day last week. We read 2 gingerbread books, decorated a gingerbread picture, and even got to decorate and eat a gingerbread cookie which was everyone’s favorite part. We graphed what each person bit off first and the majority of students took a bite from his head first! We had a fun day and really enjoyed our special cookie treat!
In preschool, we have been learning about The First Thanksgiving and what it may have been like for kids their age back then versus what they are like now. We learned why they had a feast that very first Thanksgiving and we prepared our very own feast to enjoy! Students practiced using a butter knife to cut strawberries, bananas, and oranges. We learned to snap the “yucky” ends of the green beans. Using a lot of arm strength, we made our very own butter by shaking cream… for a long time… We crushed up graham crackers for our pie crust and we even made our very own bread in a bag. On Tuesday, we enjoyed the fruits of our labor and got to eat all of the yummy food!
We read the story “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury this week and preschool and we had a GREAT time! When the preschoolers showed up for school they walked into a surprise obstacle course and they were all so excited to see what we were doing! We read the story and then in order to practice our story retelling skills, we went on our own bear hunt and experienced all the parts of the story while searching for the bear with our binoculars!
We went through the long swishy grass!
We went through the cold river!
Then we had to climb through the oozy mud!
And into the dark forest!
Through the swirling whirling snowstorm!
And finally into the dark narrow cave where we found….
The bear!!!!
