Our Habitat study begins close to home with the pond. Science in K Prep revolves around something all children love: animals and nature! Learning from nature engages children’s powers of observation. Animals become the teachers and children are free to wonder, speculate, and build on their experiences with animals at the zoo and in nature.

When students have the opportunity to interact with loose parts, they enter a world of what if that encourages the type of thinking that leads to problem solving and reasoning. Loose parts strengthen their ability to think imaginatively and see solutions…and more importantly…it’s FUN!

We’ve already reached the letter Ss! As we created our Ss Mosaics our fine motor muscles were hard at work. Building our fine motor muscles are important to help develop pencil grip and make writing a breeze!
