Once upon a time in a Kingdom not so far away, there were Princesses and Pirates celebrating a beautiful summer day! Pirates and Princess week was a jolly good time. We searched for treasure, we made wishes with fairy dust and even learned to talk like a pirate. This week was a huge success and a lot of fun for both boys and girls!
Miss Mary Kate helped the ladies make a special sparkling princess potion!
Pink Snacks fit for a Princess!

We had a ball!
Thanks for joining us, all you pirates and princess! Playing with YOU is so much fun. Hope to see you next week!
May starts our Ocean Habitat study and so we kicked it off this week with a fun exploration day in K-Prep! We rotated through four different stations focused on sensory exploration, sight word study, art, and some addition practice!
We got to explore in a squishy sensory tub filled with water beads and ocean animals! We had so much fun playing in this station!
We got to dig through tubs of seashells on a search for sight words! Once we found them, we wrote them in the correct column based on the number of letters in the word.
For our art activity, we stamped scales onto our fish using celery stalks!
And lastly, to practice our addition skills, we played fishy addition and used goldfish crackers to help us count!

The K Prep class has been learning about sound this month…vibrations, pitch, and sound waves to name a few.
-The students learned that sounds are made from vibrations. They were able to see how this works first hand! We put plastic wrap on a glass bowl and added some sugar crystals on top. We found that if we talked very closely to the sugar, it would start moving!
-To explore high and low pitch, we made our own songs using water glasses. We even wrote our own music and each played our song to the class!
-We made our own telephones to show how sound waves work!
We have been exploring and learning all about light in the K Prep classroom. We made our own rainbows with water, light and a mirror. We experimented with the meaning of translucent and non translucent. We tested out some of our theories by pointing a flashlight at the different objects to see if the light shined through! We also explored shadows and how they move as the light moves. We concluded our exploration by going outside to trace our friends’ shadow on a beautiful sunny day.
The Kprep class has been learning about the parts of a plant, the plant life cycle, what a plant needs to survive and how to grow our very own plant! The students have made individual “Green house’s” and have planted their very own grass seed! We added some crazy faces to our cups so that when grass grows, it will look like our hair!
We are excited to see some results!
