Gross motor play is extremely important in the preschool years. The children LOVE to spend time outdoors on the playground. So send a coat, and eventually mittens and hats, with your little one because we will continue our fun on the playground as it gets colder outside!
We are working on building words during our word work study today and tomorrow in Pre-K.
Today the Toddlers had so much fun playing with the parachute. We worked on the vocabulary and concepts of over and under. The boys and girls did a great job following directions as they held on tight and lifted the parachute into the air and quickly pulled it back down. There were lots of giggles and smiles during this activity.. we will be sure to do it again soon!
The Early 3’s have been learning to identify the letter Y and its corresponding sound. Today we decided to dress our “Y” in fall leaves to keep it festive for our November theme of nature. We have been looking for the letter “Y” in words that we use and in our friends names. Ask your early 3 to sing you “The Letter Y Song”.
Free Choice Time is especially fun on the first day of new centers! The preschoolers loved exploring and discovering all the new activities in our classroom this morning.
Today we added fall leaves to tree trunks while practicing the letters of our name. Ask your preschooler to tell you all the letters in their name!
We jumped right into our new theme of nature by reading “Leaf Man” by Lois Elhert during group time. The children were fascinated by all of the different colors and leaves throughout the book. The boys and girls will have a chance to build their very own leaf man on the magnetic board this week. The afternoon class was lucky enough to enjoy this book outside on this beautiful fall day!
